Description

For more than a decade, open science has been a key topic on the international research policy agenda. The concept is based on fundamental norms about the democratisation of knowledge, the quality of research, contributions to sustainable development of society, and political justification for public use of resources. Conditions have changed and openness in artistic research must be met with a critical awareness of openness vs. opacity. ELIA's working group for Artistic Research invited the community to reflect on these questions through a series of open meetings as a build-up to the Milan conference. The platform meeting in Milan will be the physical milestone on the way to a possible manifesto for Critical Openness in Artistic Research.

Members of the working group performed a scripted representation of some of the ideas and concepts, concerns and challenges, that have been raised during the continuing development of the Manifesto.
