Description
A performance for clarinet and electronics including Emily Doolittle's 'Gardenscape' (2020) and 'Gannetry' (2021), alongside Petr Wajsar's 'Birdie Pranks' (2011) and pieces by Hollis Taylor, author of 'Is Birdsong Music?' (Indiana University Press, 2017). These composers have all paid close aural attention to the songs of the birds who inspired their pieces, and their works feature the sounds of the pied butcherbird (Cracticus nigrogularis), common blackbird (Turdus merula), and the northern gannet (Morus bassanus), among many other species.
