Biography
Megumi McKillop, née Hari holds an MFA in Technical Theatre Design from the University of Calgary (2021), Certificates in University Teaching and Learning Certificate from Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning (2021), and an Advanced Diploma in Entertainment Technology from St. Clair College (2012).
She has worked as a freelance artist for Canadian theatres. Selected credits include: the Grand Theatre (London, Ontario), Theatre Aquarius (Hamilton, Ontario), Shaw Festival Theatre (Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario), Théâtre Français de Toronto (Toronto, Ontario). In addition to her theatre work, Megumi has worked in various fabrication shops producing scenic elements for clients such as Universal Studios, Tokyo Disney, and HBO.
Her previous roles include Head Scenic Artist at Thousand Islands Playhouse (Gananoque, Ontario) and Sudbury Theatre Centre (Sudbury, Ontario) and as the Assistant Head Scenic Artist at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre (Winnipeg, Manitoba). She was formally a member of IATSE local 828 and 212.
Megumi currently holds the post as the Scenic Art Tutor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
