Details

The voice technique of Nadine George is the core practice of the Centre for Voice in Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has been used in the training of performers and within professional theatre productions in Scotland for over 20 years. This article documents the first stage of a long-term practice-led investigation into the application of the vocal technique to directors and the direction process. It charts the growth and development of an embodied understanding of the technique for directors as creative artists before going on to explain how that understanding has led to new investigations within current professional theatre practices.
