Research output: Contributions to books, editions, reports or conference proceedingsChapterpeer-review

Details

A study of Fauré’s and Ravel’s musical interactions that shows an evolution, over a few decades, reaching well beyond the teacher-pupil relationship that first linked the two composers. The discussion features Fauré’s Seventh Nocturne and his songs Clair de lune, Au bord de l'eau and Reflets dans l'eau with his song cycle La Bonne Chanson, and Ravel's Ma mère l’Oye, Histoires naturelles and Gaspard de la nuit, plus the composer Henry Février’s account of Fauré’s composition class, published here in English for the first time.
