As the researcher writes in conclusion: 'Today, we pay great attention to critical editions based on scholarly work and to historic instruments, but we often leave out the sounding evidence: deep study of this evidence pays rich dividends, for it can be an echo of Debussy's intentions, advice and tastes.'
