Details
Describes three mid-nineteenth century flute manuscripts found at the Library of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). The manuscripts originally belonged to James Simpson, father of Alexander Simpson, early partner of the Methven Simpson firm in Dundee. The context, contents and history are examined, and a complete listing of the contents provides background to many of the tunes.
