Details

This chapter reflects on an artistic exchange project between Glasgow and Mexico City that took place during COP26, the 26th United Nations Climate Change conference.
Within the context of creative mobilities, the chapter asks how journeys can be reframed and reimagined for their positive and progressive potential.
It responds to the processes of transformation and development experienced in educational, participatory and community contexts, which are frequently referred to as ‘learning journeys’.
The co-authored chapter takes the term ‘learning journeys’ literally, examining how physical and digital journeys in specific locations can bring about meaningful and hopeful experiences.
The experimental and generative qualities of this project are emphasised and considered as potentially hopeful ways of responding to global challenges such as climate crises.
The chapter argues that we need to take ‘creative adventures’ (Massumi 2018), which have the potential to open up new pathways of discovery and understanding.
