Turkish tenor Ilker Arcayurek and Scottish pianist Malcolm Martineau are master performers of song. In this recital they share two great song cycles, Beethoven's An die ferne Geliebte (To the Distant Beloved) influenced by folksong, and Schumann's Dichterliebe (A Poet’s Love) written in the space of a week and based on romantic poetry by Heinrich Heine.
