Emily Davis

Biography

Emily Davis is a joint PhD researcher at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Glasgow Caledonian University. Her research is in collaboration with Scottish Ballet, with a specific interest in understanding the implementation and impact of their dance for multiple sclerosis program, Elevate®. In 2021, Davis graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and was honored as a Dean’s Scholar and Thouron Scholar. While pursuing her undergraduate education, Emily danced professionally full-time as a corps de ballet member of the Pennsylvania Ballet from 2015 to 2021. In Philadelphia, Emily also instructed dance for health programs across the city in partnership with local clinical and community organizations. Emily is passionate about bridging her professional ballet background with her academic interests to explore the impact of dance on the health of individuals and communities including those with progressive neurological conditions.
