Erin Carter Webster

Biography

Erin is a Glasgow based writer and theatre maker responsible for performance and artistic development modules within the Musical Theatre team at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Having made her film debut as a child actor, playing the sister of RCS alumni Robert Carlyle, Erin moved to London to train as an actor. A decade long performance career followed including UK Tour, West End and International credits including musicals; ChessThe Rocky Horror Picture ShowBeauty & the BeastThe Hot MikadoShahrazadLorna Dunne and plays; Initial ConditionsAlls Well That Ends and Extremitis as notable highlights.

 

Professional highlights

In 2008, with the support of the writers programs at The Royal Court Theatre, Erin began her writing career. Her plays include; Craven Choke PuppiesThe Cost of LivingThe Philosophers and shorts; Prophesy, The Public Theatre New York; Simple Truth, Theatre503; Three is Compnay and The Shed,the Kings Head Theatre. Offstage Erin received a recent feature film commission resulting in the political sports drama Gold, she co–wrote the radio drama Bound for Radio 4 and contributed episodes for the CBeebies series Tea Cup Travels. Before joining the RCS faculty Erin trained actors in London and credits engagement with the next generation of artists as her inspiration for creating form-challenging drama.
