Biography

Gary Gardiner is a performer, director, producer and creative learning practitioner, working across a range of local and international contexts. He is the Artistic Director of Off The Rails which pioneers arts education practice and contemporary performance work.

Gary is particularly focused in both the engagement and knowledge exchange of using the arts and social enterprise as a tool for making sustained personal and social change.

Key themes in Gary’s work are critical and creative learning; knowledge exchange; equality and human rights; democracy and social justice; gender and Capitalism.

Teaching commitments

Gary is an advisor and assessor for the nationally accredited Arts Award and currently works as Lecturer in Applied Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Professional highlights

Recent works from Gary include Santa: A Very Merry Businessman (5 stars) and Thatcher’s Children (4 stars) for which he won the Arches Theatre Platform 18 Award in 2012.
