A project led by traditional singer Linn Phipps, Salute to Rona Lightfoot is a compilation of 37 original tracks recorded by a range of renowned pipers and singers, accompanied by a multi-platform website with video and audio links and scholarly texts, in tribute to the life, music and career of Rona Lightfoot of South Uist. I wrote scholarly commentaries to accompany 12 tracks of pibroch song recordings, summarising folklore, Gaelic song, and historical source information supporting each track.
