An examination of the use of music across the 15 seasons of the TV show Supernatural, in particular looking at the use of rock music and a distinctive melodic theme for Dean, the musical 'absence' of Sam, and the importance of the recurring song "Carry on Wayward Son" as a form of theme tune for a series that uses the 'ident' form of title sequence and so has no conventional music theme at the start of each episode.
